Sock Monkeys
Well...it's official...I'm addicted to making sock monkeys! This section will take awhile to grow as I just discovered this new found joy.

Knitting
Knitting is a craft that I pick up every few years and go yarn crazy...then...nothing happens. So this time, I'm going to continue down the knitting path and hopefully make more than just scarves.

Bowen Island
Welcome to Bowen Island. Located just twelve miles northwest of Vancouver, Bowen Island is a place like no other. A scenic 20 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver brings you to Snug Cove, the heart of Bowen. This is where my husband and I live with our two cats, one dog and my sister.
Someone told me that it used to be considered normal to go 42 weeks for a first baby, 40 being the normal after that. My first was 42.5 weeks, the second was 40. Try to be comfortable and maybe see an accupuncturist.

Our first kid was nearly 2.5 weeks "overdue." I use quotes because there's no such thing...it's the first lesson of parenting: time changes irreversibly for the rest of your life. Everything you thought you knew about "on time" "late" and "in the nick of..." is about to change!
Take it easy, enjoy the quiet, and if you get a little anxious, do what our midwife suggested: have a sip of wine. The break in your routine just might get things started.

if it makes you feel any better (probably not), my first one was two wks overdue, and my second one was ten days overdue. some babes just like to cook longer! best wishes to you for a wonderful birth. :)
